Leo was born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico, where he discovered American football through his brother. A highly accomplished young athlete, Leonardo is a flag football world champion and three-time national champion in Mexico.

He earned his opportunity to join the NFL Academy through the combine in Monterrey, seeing the programme as the perfect chance to take his game to the next level and pursue his football ambitions.

Alongside football, Leonardo studies Maths, History and another subject, while enjoying music and sport in his spare time. A fan of the Miami Dolphins, Leonardo looks up to Jahmyr Gibbs as he continues his development as a running back.
