Born in Watford and raised in Bedford, Ryan first trained in gymnastics before discovering American football at 13, when his mum signed him up after being inspired by his dad and uncle’s passion for the sport. After just a year, he switched clubs and went on to represent Team Great Britain and captained the Northants Knights U19s along the way.

Ryan was recruited to the NFL Academy by Coach Cam following a camp in Loughborough, drawn by the opportunity to develop his skills and pursue his dream of playing in the United States. His favourite NFL team are the Houston Texans, and he looks up to players such as Christian Gonzalez, Reed Blankenship, and Cooper DeJean.
