Vili was born and raised in Lahti, Finland. He participated in skiing, boxing, and track and field before discovering American football after watching OBJ highlights on YouTube. He began playing for his hometown team, the Lahti Panthers, for six years before moving to the Helsinki Roosters to compete in the top league in Finland.

Vili connected with the NFL Academy through social media and attended the Finland combine. After being invited to a follow-up combine in Germany, the coaches were impressed by his performance and offered him a place at the Academy.

Alongside his studies in BTEC Coaching, Vili enjoys skiing in the winter, fishing in the summer, and playing Call of Duty. A fan of the Las Vegas Raiders, he looks up to Brian Dawkins as his all-time favorite player and Maxx Crosby.
