Dawens is a German-Haitian wide receiver and defensive back, born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and raised in Germany. He grew up playing football (soccer), tennis, and ping pong before transitioning to American football.

He was introduced to the sport by his parents, who brought him to his first practice. Dawens quickly developed, earning U16 MVP honors in 2023 and Offensive MVP in 2024.

He was recruited through social media by Coach Mace, drawn to the high quality of the program and the opportunity to improve his game. Dawens supports the Detroit Lions, with George Pickens as his favourite player.
