Hamza is an OL of Egyptian, New Zealand, and Māori heritage, born and raised on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. He spent his early childhood between Queensland and Melbourne before settling back on the Gold Coast.

Before transitioning to American football, Hamza competed at State Level in Rugby Union, Basketball, and Athletics (Discus, Shotput, and Javelin), while also playing Rugby League and Soccer. In 2025, he was scouted by NFL Academy coaches at a School State Basketball Tournament and introduced to the NFL Academy Asia-Pacific pathway.

Driven by the opportunity to build a legacy for himself and future Asia-Pacific athletes, Hamza joined the Academy to help set the standard and prove that Australians can compete at a high level in American football. He is currently studying BTEC Sports Coaching and enjoys gaming (Fortnite, NBA 2K, Madden), training in the gym, and spending time with family and friends. He supports the Miami Dolphins, with Jordan Mailata as his favourite player.
