Mauricio was born and raised in Austria, where he began playing American football after his mum introduced him to the sport. A former U14 Finals MVP with the Vienna Vikings, Mauricio continued his development before earning his opportunity to join the NFL Academy by submitting his highlight tape.

Mauricio chose the NFL Academy to challenge himself in a high-level football environment and continue developing as a player. Alongside football, he is studying Sports Coaching.

Away from the field, Mauricio enjoys reading books and gaming. A fan of the Baltimore Ravens, he looks up to Odell Beckham Jr. as he continues his football journey.
